Moderator-WEI Wan-Jung
Executive Director of OISTAT (TW)WEI Wan-Jung is the youngest executive director of the International Organisation of Scenographers, Theatre Architects and Technicians (OISTAT) since its inception, and also the first with diplomatic training. She joined OISTAT in 2011 to combine her passions for dance, theatre and international affairs, applying this blend of skills to her daily works. She holds an MA degree in Arts Politics & Public Policy from New York University. She continuously explores the relation between performing arts and politics with a focus on women’s rights and gender equality.
Panelist - Jude KELLY
CEO and Founder of The WOW Foundation (UK)Jude KELLY is CEO and Founder of The WOW Foundation which runs WOW - Women of the World Festivals across the globe, to celebrate the achievements of women and girls and confront global gender injustice. Starting at London’s Southbank Centre in 2010, where she was Artistic Director for 12 years, WOW now takes place in 30 locations across six continents. In 2018 she established The WOW Foundation as an independent charity dedicated to building the WOW movement as a force for change. She has directed over 200 theatre and opera productions including at the Royal Shakespeare Company, English National Opera, National Theatre and the Châtalet in Paris. She is the recipient of two Olivier Awards, a BASCA Gold Badge Award for contribution to music and a Southbank Award for opera. Headhunted to join the bidding team for the 2012 London Olympics and create the programme for culture and ceremonies, she subsequently advised both Rio and Tokyo on their successful bids. She has founded a range of arts institutions and commissioned and supported the work of thousands of artists across all genres.
Panelist -Cynthia CHIANG
Head of Strategic Marketing of National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) (TW)Cynthia CHIANG has been Head of Strategic Marketing, Marketing and Communications at National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) since October 2020. She was the International Partnerships Coordinator of the Artistic Planning and Production department of Weiwuying from July 2019 to October 2020, co-ordinating international events and symposiums. As the deputy manager of OISTAT headquarters in 2015-2019, she was responsible for public relations, project co-ordinating and event marketing. In 2018 she joined a newly-established company, Zen-Yi Production, as a producer of theatre for young audiences. Chiang‘s passion for performing arts began as a drummer in a marching band, and her arts administration career in 2011 when she joined Dance Exponent Five as dancer and company administrator. She has an MA degree in sociology.
Panelist - YEH Ming-Hwa
Independent Artist (TW)Born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, YEH Ming-Hwa received her BFA in Dance from Taipei National University of Arts in 2006. Songshan Creative Park commissioned her creations ‘Nordic’ (2015) and ‘17 Years Cicada’ (2018). In between she created The Serene Gallery Performance X Exhibition at MoNTUE Museu, and in 2018-19 was commissioned by Yu-Hsiu Museum of Art, Taiwan. She also received a fellowship from Asian Culture Council (ACC) to conduct research in Japan in 2018, and the following year took up the role of stage direction in Jérôme Bel's ‘The show must go on’ at Taipei Arts Festival. In 2019-2020 she was involved in the ‘Museum of Human Emotions Project’ presented by Centro per la Scena Contemporanea, Bassano del Grappa (IT), La Briqueterie CDCN, Val-de Marne (FR), Saison Foundation(JP) and National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying)(TW). In 2020 the latter commissioned ‘Pink Smile.’ That same year ‘The House Behind the Wall’ was commissioned by Taipei Fine Arts Museum at Wang Da Hong House Theatre, and in 2021 it won the Grand Prize of the 19th Taishin Arts Award. Her latest work-in-progress ‘SHE & SHE_O.S.’ was commissioned by Taipei Performing Arts Center for Taipei Arts Festival’s THINK BAR, 2020-21, and co-produced by BIT Teatergarasjen (Bergen).

Independent Artist (TW)CHOU Kuan Jou is a rising choreographer based in Taiwan. As a carrier of multi-dimensional performing energy and sensitivity, she is also a theatre performer, artist, action choreographer and dance instructor. Her work is Inspired by the abnormality of bodies in daily lives, capturing behavior and movement from a choreographic angle and creating its own theatrical aesthetics. Her recent work focuses on gender issues and feminism, and is mostly inspired by somatic female experiences. In 2019 she was invited by the Centre national de la danse to participate in CAMPING in Paris. In 2021 her work ‘Nyu Shu Movement'.’ co-created with artist Chen Yi-Chin, was shown at Loei Art Fes in Thailand and Creators’ Cradle Circuit in Tokyo. In 2022 her work TOMATO was selected for the Taiwan Season at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
